Lucy received a First Class Honours Degree from Goldsmiths College in London, in 1981 under the tutelage of Glen Baxter, Mary Kelly and Michael Craig Martin.

Lucy then spent many years working as a designer in the theatre, spending time working in Madrid, and as a print operator in London and a community art worker in Hammersmith.

Her comic strips and illustrations have been exhibited throughout Europe and she has been included in Damn Fine Art, an anthology of women artists compiled by Cherry Smyth. She has exhibited at various venues in London and most recently at the Hanbury Gallery, Brick Lane and Blackburne House in Liverpool. She has been invited to exhibit her sculptures this December 2005 at the Florence Biennale.

She is a member of the FSB.
